Fabric
We have a carefully collated collection of dressmaking fabrics from big names such as Fabric Godmother, Dashwood, Art Gallery, Lady McElroy and Tula Pink. Also available are some fabulous cottons including lawns and feature prints.
Bag Materials
We stock fabrics and PU for bag making, interfacing, lining, strapping, continuous zips with pulls, D rings, feet, sliders and other accessories, plus paper patterns.
Haberdashery
We sell thread from Guterman and haberdashery from Prym, including sewing-machine needles, hand needles and lots of other useful implements, such as our hand-turned seam rippers made here in New Mills.
Patterns
We stock some of the market-leading paper patterns including Tilly and the Buttons, Merchant and Mills, Sew Me Something. We provide patterns which cater for absolute beginners through to the more experienced seamstress.
Classes
I want to help others to find the joy in textiles and sewing. We offer classes for everybody from eight years and up, from 'never sewn a stitch' to more experienced sewists. Classes range from basic bag and dressmaking to jeans and tailoring.

I'm the face behind Rubies Rags. I've been sewing for around 40 years and finally got the chance to live my dream and open my own fabric shop!
I'm a passionate dressmaker and I love to provide people with the quality materials, tools, knowledge and inspiration to make their own clothes.

We only select the highest quality fabric and can provide it to you for a good price. We also offer patterns, haberdashery, wool, gifts and big brands like Gutermann threads.
We also offer sewing classes, workshops, sewing bee, knit and natter and 1:1's at our shop in New Mills.
